Don't ask me what I was doing in the 'burbs of Sterling Heights but this is my raving, stand up on the couch, shout it from the roof tops, 5-star review for The Pantry! We arrived on a Sunday morning around 9:30am. I thought we were way early (by Toronto standards) but there was already a small line forming out the door. After a very short 20 min. wait, we were seated at a small table for 2. I had already stalked their menu online so I knew what I was going to order - Horn Of Plenty ($8.50), the apple pancake ($8.25) and some coffees. While we waited for our food, I browsed around the restaurant - the walls were decorated with family portraits and photos. Felt like being at grandma's (or my in-laws) house. Service was super friendly...we observed lots of returning customers and staff seemed to know everyone's name. My Horn of Plenty was a German pancake filled with fresh fruit and whipped cream. I don't think I've ever had a German pancake before so I can only describe it as a lovechild created in a three-way between a pancake, crepe and funnel cake. The result was a birth of something way too delicious. And the fresh fruit in the middle was actually ripe, no stoney, tasteless melon pieces or over ripe mushy berries. Just perfect. The apple pancake was a very generous portion of cinammon sweetness. It was hot, soft and on a cold winter Michigan day, I'd probably come in, order this and prompty stick my face in it. We did find it a tad too sweet to eat the whole thing so the ideal combo would be to order one of these and then a savoury dish to balance it all out. Best brunch I've had in a very, very long time. I'm still dreaming of it.

Close to our hotel and thank goodness! Breakfast was great!! We had a variety of things from eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy and pancakes. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we all left with happy tummies. I especially enjoyed my scrambled eggs with cheese. Many places simply throw a slice of cheese on already scrambled eggs, yuck. My eggs here were some of the best I have ever eaten. Bacon was perfect. Teens loved the pancakes. We split biscuits and gravy. Staff was very friendly and seated us promptly. We were brought drinks right away and waited no time for our food to arrive. No one had an empty glass during our entire meal. The friendly, smiling and timely service was appreciated.

This is a great experience. the Pantry is a place with great customer service filled with a sense of humor. We just ordered Mike's Eggs Basket, and the German Pancake. All fresh ingredients and great fresh fruit. Pictures will come up soon.

First time here! It was good! Breakfast portions are huge, prices are reasonable, but our waitress wasn't very friendly. Other than that, we were impressed and we will definitely be returning!

This is my FAVORITE breakfast spot in Sterling Heights. Maybe the line out the door explains why. They have delicious food and everything is cooked in butter (not oil!). The waitresses are fantastic and very accommodating. If you are in a rush--DO NOT come here. Do not. Because not only is the wait line long, but it takes a while to get your food. -Coffee: Yummy and they are great at refilling. -Apple Pancake: oh delicious! The dough is perfectly flaky and fried--I mean perfectly. There is an even mix of apples, cinnamon, sugar and dough that really does melt in your mouth. It's HUGE and a great pancake to share among tablemates as a dessert. -Bacon: thickly cut it's the perfect mix of sweet and salty. Yum. -Buttermilk Pancakes: they are really fluffy and moist--a nice add-on. -English Muffin: mmmmm crispy, crunchy, moist, mushy, hot and slathered in butter. -Garden Surprise: a "German" pancake but filled with fresh veggies and cheese. It's actually tart and sweet at the same time because the dough is sweet (with a hint of apple and cinnamon) while the veggies mix perfectly with the creamy brick cheese. I prefer the omelettes but this is nicely decadent. -Omelette's: let's talk about these amazing creations. They are first prepared in the skillet and then at the very last moment baked in the oven. They are huge, fluffy and oh so flavorful. They use brick cheese which I liked but others would have preferred a sharper cheese. The omelettes are STUFFED with whatever you want them to be stuffed with. Yummy. My favorite is the Western. -Potato Pancakes: perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Pantry shreds the potatoes themselves so they are nice and fresh. FINAL VERDICT: Everything is deliciously fresh and has a lot of flavor.

Bacon and cheese omelette and apple pancakes. Split it and thank me later! So damn good!!
(5)Ken S.
Blueberry pancakes came with house made blueberry syrup that was delicious! Bacon was thick & savory. I had to refrain from ordering another breakfast after I was finished. Definitely want to try the sweet potato pancakes next. And the Mike's egg basket...
(5)Kristin Z.
Holy amazingness!!!!!!!! I love this place! I've tried a lot of breakfast places and this is a favorite. I really love going out to breakfast on the weekends and this spot is a winner. I frequented Maes restaurant for a while until I needed a menu change. Compared to Maes, the line isn't bad at all. I think the longest I have had to wait for two people was 8 min max. It's worth it anyway. I love the Eggs Michael. You can't beat crispy potato skins with scrambled eggs stuffed inside. Thank you for whoever came up with this idea. I've also had the country fried steak which was delicious the Texas flap jacks and those are awesome. Next time I am going to try an omelet. TRY IT! Don't wait!
(5)Raynel Z.
Straight up the most amazing breakfast place ever. The French toast is amaaaazing and the prices are affordable. You can tell how fresh everything is and nothing is artificial (so much better than iHop). The only thing I hate is how long I often wait in line for a table when they are busy, which has been close to an hour at times. Obviously not their fault, I think everybody just knows they're the best in town!
(5)Danielle S.
Must GET: Mikes Egg Basket. Hollowed out potato that's deep fried and they put an omelette inside with the best white brick cheese. I have to get this every single time! Must AVOID: Potato Pancakes... If you know anything about potato pancakes they are suppose to be made with mashed potatoes, and they must use left over hashbrows which makes for an odd taste and they are paper thin. By far the most repulsive food item I've eaten. I even brought them home to see if I could season them or make them bearable to consume, but there was no hope.
(5)Kari Jo M.
Very friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and usually comes with a line out the door on the weekends. Expect a wait on saturday or sunday, but it is worth it.

I just ordered a carry out after having an amazing experience at the hall rd location. Anxiously awaiting the same experience and great food, I come on here to announce it was far from amazing. Pretty much down right rude and neglected service. I called in my order - great! I came in 15 minutes later to pick it up and I stood at the register - no greeting. The hostess was cashing out customers but that does not mean you cannot acknowledge my presence. I stood there for 5 minutes patiently waiting an acknowledgement of my presences. ...waitresses walked by and the cook kept looking at me through the window. The hostess finishes checking out the line of guests and walks in my direction BUT picks up the phone to take a carry out order. WHAT ABOUT ME?!!!! After she messed around witht the phone I finally get a "hi". I pay for the carry out and wait for her to bring it back. I see the bus boy walking towards me with a brown bag. No words...no calling my name....no here is your carry out....just an extension of the bag. No thank you have a good day...no please come again...no enjoy....just a transfer of the goods and he turned and walked away. Im sorry...but this is unacceptable. I know youre busy but making your customers feel unappreciated is bad business. Unfortunately I will give only two stars due to my poor service and experience. The food was amazing and I love how it was plated. Im not sure if coming back to this location is worth it. I haven't been here in 3 years for the same reason. I guess crossing the Pantry off my list is what it comes down to. Very sad!
(2)Brad M.
Breakfast there was amazing. Went there during a weekday morning and it was very busy. I ordered the apple pancake which was spectacular. It was very hot, full of cinnamon and sugar, and I would highly recommend this. This is one of their signature dishes. Service was good and the waitress was very attentive. Will definately go back.
(5)Sophia H.
I went for the brunch around 11:30 and had to wait 30min to be seated. But it was worth a wait!! Mike's egg basket was very delicious and blueberry pancakes were soft and good. I'm giving 4 stars because the waitress took my order wrong. I ordered spinach and mushrooms for the mike's egg basket, but I received onions and mushrooms. It was still delicious! This place is more for the family outings, but not really for the girls brunch date. Anyways, I'm definitely going back again. Thanks!
(4)Robert P.
I came here with a couple friends before school one day and I tried a german pancake for the first time. I'm not a fan of breakfast food, but this was AMAZING. You must order it, and be sure to sprinkle lemon and powdered sugar around it!
(5)Rivo H.
Love this place, it has a homey feel and their food is delicious!!! Its always a little busy and they give great portions for the price! I love their chocolate pancakes .
(5)Adam B.
They should have a warning label on the German Pancake. It is extremely delicious. This dish is huge for a smaller one order the Dutch Baby.
(5)Michelle M.
Every time I go here I say I'm going to try something new but always end up getting the apple pancake. It's just so good that I can't help myself.
(5)Katy K.
I was visiting Michigan & I love to stop at family owned breakfast joints. I had a great experience at The Pantry and I would love to go back and try more items on the menu. I ordered an oven baked pancake with banana and pecans. It was scrumptious! I've never had a Dutch pancake other than apple and they have a large variety to choose from on the menu. My boyfriend ordered an omelette, which in my opinion looked more like a frittata. It's obvious they baked it since it is sooo fluffy. It makes no difference to me how the omelette is prepared as long as it's delicious and it was. If you stop by you have to try the homemade raisin toast! Although it doesn't beat my grandma's, it's by far the closest I've had and it brought back old memories. Overall service was good. Our waitress was very friendly and helped with suggestions on the menu. After we ordered she was a little inattentive, but I think she might of been the only one working at the time. Bottom line: I highly recommend this restaurant and I hope I'm in the area again to revisit.
(5)Azmath A.
Great customer service. Friendly and funny. Coffee is great and is prices are reasonable
(5)Carlos C.
A little piece of heaven on earth. I was in the area with friends for an exam and found the Pantry on Yelp. I ordered the breakfast special with ham and cheese and it came served on potato skins... DELICIOUS!! My friends ordered the Apple Pancake, potato pancakes and fresh squeezed orange juice. Everything was amazing!!! Highly recommended, experience well worth the trip.
(5)Melissa P.
Extremely busy on New Year's morning. I'm guessing they were trying to rush orders. Our over medium eggs were runny and pancakes were not done on the inside. Had to send them back. We didn't try any of the specialty pancakes. The looked good. Might be a good place if they're not busy.
(3)Connie G.
Got the standard 2 eggs 4 sausage links white toast American fries and coffee $9.42 later kinda pricey the staff seems friendly but not to me . The back wall has a giant mural of the family. No coffee refill offered . Won't be back .
(3)Christopher M.
I came here with my girlfriend, and ordered the Flapjack pancakes, she ordered an Omelette with potatoes. When the food finally came, my "3" pancakes were paper thin, and I finished them before my girlfriend even made a dent in hers. Her potatoes were ice cold as well! I also ordered an English muffin, which came out burnt to a crisp!!! I sent it back and just asked for it to be taken off my bill. I ended up paying for the poor attempt at "pancakes", and leaving still hungry. Fortunately, my girlfriends omelette was pretty good. So that's why they get two stars. I can't say I'll be returning anytime soon. Especially if I have a big appetite.
(2)Alexandra M.
I watched as two other parties were seated and ate their meal before mine ever even arrived. I'm patient and understanding when it comes to the food industry, human error is unavoidable. But an hour of waiting without any kind of assurance for pancakes isn't a great first impression. It's the small mannerisms in hospitality that influence a review on yelp and others decisions to go there even if they have an hour to spare.
(1)Ryan H.
Mediocre everything Veggies were not fresh. Bland across the board. Pancakes were lacking taste...dry loaf. Maybe a local favorite to some, but I'm not a local and I know my food. 2 stars is very generous
(2)Belynda H.
I thought the apple pancake was pretty tasty and the homemade orange juice isn't bad either
(4)Bri D.
This place is amazing! I'm a breakfast fanatic and this place really hit the spot! By chance we stumbled upon this gem and after reading yelp reviews decided to give it a go! So glad we did! There was a line when we walked in but it only took about 10 minutes before we were seated. I ordered the Georgia Pecan Pancakes, eggs and bacon... Yum yum yum! My boyfriend ordered the Banana Nut Surprise (I believe that's what it's called). Both meals were amazingly delicious! I hate that this place is so far from me otherwise I would make this my weekend breakfast spot. Would recommend this place to anyone!
(5)Karl G.
The winner & still champ, :) ... this is how it's done. Light, fluffy, huge omelets packed with fresh ingredients & cheese. The specialty pancakes (german, apple, et) are out of this world. Service is top notch, everything about this place screams, "quality!". Been coming here since the late '70s/early '80s (?) and can honestly say have never had a bad experience. One of the few places I will wait in line to dine at. Reasonable prices & daily specials. 5-stars!
(5)Lia K.
I used to go here all the time when I was little, so I decided to have brunch here with my boyfriend. It was a Saturday so there was a long line, but I expected that. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake crepes, they were pretty good but nothing too amazing. He ordered the bacon and cheese omelet, it came with 3 small pancakes and toast. He said it was really good and the portions were a great size. It was the same price as my 3 crepes but he got a lot more food! Ill have to go with an omelet next time.
(4)Demacio K.
Great service, great food, great vibe! I love this place! The wait staff is always friendly and even though they stay pretty busy in there, they constantly check on you and keep your coffee hot and your drinks full.. I like how they are not afraid to hide their love of Jesus and their faith. You don see that much anymore. They hands down have the best breakfast and their bacon is amazing! A++
(5)Christina K.
Our second experience was 100% better than our first. Amazing food. I got the Nutella crepes with strawberry and banana topping. DELICIOUS! Lisa, a co-owner, is very nice and welcoming. She took very good care of us to accommodate for the bad experience we had. We are pleased to say the least!!! Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
(5)Lisa H.
Super sweet, yummy breakfasts, but my favorite is the eggs benedict! Great service!
(5)Meghan W.
This is a great spot for breakfast. My mom had the pancakes which were fantastic.
(4)Kortney B.
I'm giving five stars because the staff was great. Very attentive.. I wasn't wowed by the buttermilk pancakes. My omelette was good. Its a few things that I want to try so I will return. My son liked the French toast.
(5)Megan M.
Ive been looking for a place that serves food crepes for breakfast and ive found it. Rarley will I waut in line for 20 minutes to get food on a Saturday morning but I will to vet some of their delicious crepes!
(5)Luke W.
Came here for lunch, pretty busy spot but still got a table within just a few minutes. The breakfast menu looks amazing, I was more in the mood for lunch though. Ordered the #1 (Pita sandwich with fries and slaw); everything was great! The sandwich was delicious, nice crispy chicken, fresh veggies; fries are fries, also nice and crispy; the slaw was rather good, it didn't look or taste like it came out of a 5 gallon bucket like most places. Great food, great service. Give the pantry a go if you're in the area!
(4)Tiffany M.
Best food in town I live in grosse pointe and skip pancake house to go here :)
(4)Mare C.
The Pantry is my favorite place to go for breakfast when I'm home in Michigan. While a lot of the chic diners in Royal Oak and Ferndale are nice places to go, the Pantry has a special traditional vibe. It's been around since 1978, there's family portraits on the wall and cozy booths. But the real magic is in the food. The omelets are the best I've ever had, fluffy and cooked to perfection. My favorite is the asparagus brick cheese. Their traditional German pancake is also a winner, delicious topped with the fresh lemon and powdered sugar glaze.
(5)Mimi G.
The 2 stars are simply because the omelette was delicious. The bacon was extremely salty and over cooked, the pancakes were dry and unappetizing, the syrup was of the regular store brand variety, the coffee was terrible and service was not impressive. We went because of the reviews and recommendations. OPH is our favorite spot and we were hoping to add variety. Unfortunately we won't be returning.
(2)Linda D.
I'm so disappointed. I've seen a line of people waiting to get in on a weekend so I had high hopes. My husbands eggs were undercooked. My ommelette wasn't done in the middle. The pancakes were "don't even take a second bite" awful.
(1)Christopher G.
This place is a local gem. Just about anything here is good but the German Pancake and the smaller version, the Dutch Baby, are absolutely aces. The owners are super catholic so there is religious paraphernalia everywhere (including grace on the menu), but otherwise, this place is wonderful. TIP: It gets PACKED on weekend mornings so go early, or after the church crowd.
(5)Hal N.
This is one of the top spots for Brunch in the Detroit metro area, and on Van Dyke, known for Omelets and baked pancake amazing creations. A must try restaurant.
(5)Sarah Audrey W.
My cousin was raised in Sterling Heights and has been eating at the Pantry forever. It is her favorite breakfast spot. After my first trip there it's easy to see why. The food was great and so was the service. It's a cozy family run business with a great menu.
(5)Bill W.
One of the better places I've been for breakfast. There was a line out the door when I went but I only waited 20 min. They turn around fast. The food is excellent. I had the German pancake...come hungry. Coffee was above average. Good service.
(5)Ron C.
NOTE: Not all breakfast places called 'The Pantry' are created equal I'll explain, we went to 'The Pantry' at 14.5 and Vandyke yesterday [ 8-22 ] , we were greeted & seated promptly, our server happened to be the owner & has worked here 33 years...a majority of the staff has been here 20+ years, so I inquired . .Lisa I have sent many friends to 'The Pantry' on Hall Road near Morleys, and every person I have sent there has disliked it & will not go back, she looked crushed & agreed, same name, siblings operate it, high staff turnover, to the point, that it is affecting /effecting business at the Sterling Heights location , how sad. So after that lengthy disclaimer ________________________ We had a friend in town from Katmandu Nepal, and we wanted to treat her to a special breakfast & chat. Lisa our server was a very special soul & a great server, even explaining why the pancakes taste better here than anywhere else [ they add peanut oil directly into the batter ] LISA A+ Coffee hot, fresh & constantly kept full for 2 hours A+ Cleanliness & Comfort , the place was spotless as was the staff A+ All 3 of us ordered omelettes Ham & Swiss A+ Mushroom & Brick A++ Ham & Brick A+ also noteworthy is they will let you swap in & out pancakes or toast or muffins or fresh fruit until you get the combo you want !! Substitutions A+ Pancakes Golden + Fluffy & mmmm mmm good A Hash Browns , were the only thing that were so-so , rather pedestrian C
(4)Irwin F.
Love the Apple Pancake! The wait can be a pain, but it is worth it. Just avoid obvious Church rushes on the wknd or Holidays and give it a shot. Seating can be cramped but it is what it is.
(5)Natalie G.
Hands down BEST omelette you will ever have! The eggs are fluffy and not at all greasy! I also am obsessed with the Apple Pancake, it tastes like an elephant ear with apples on it! Just so you know there is ALWAYS a huge line during breakfast hours but the wait is worth it!!
(5)Cheryl P.
tuesdays is all you can eat pan cakes and the Texas Flapjacks are just too good to describe.....they are sort of crepes but not really...I'll pay dearly for a recipe.....
(5)Zach M.
I lived around the corner from this place until I was about 6 years old. It's still the best breakfast joint I've ever been to. That's 100% honest. It's probably a little bit hyperbole, but it's really amazing. The apple pancake is just this incredible combination of apples, cinnamon and whatever - I still don't know how they do it. The regular pancakes have the perfect consistency to absorb enough syrup yet retain some dignity. The waffles? Terrific and they'll put ice cream on it (yes even as an adult that appeals to me). The ham and cheese omelet is perfect. It's not much to look at. They'll probably be a wait. But this is everything a breakfast restaurant should be. Great people and well run. So much better than Pancake House or whatever competition may be out there.
(5)Joseph H.
I don't understand the hype and the line out the door. Don't get me wrong it's a nice little joint if you want simple breakfast and lunch, but I wouldn't write home about it. (no pun intended as I write this review) I went last weekend for my friends birthday and she picked the establishment. I literally had to fight a woman in line to get to the table I was meeting my friend at. Here's how it went: I was trying, ever so politely, to maneuver through the narrow line and not push and shove when I was waiting for the person in front of me to pass so I could cross over to the table when this woman tapped me on the shoulder and, inches from my face, said "I don't know if you realize this, but there's a line and you're behind ALL OF US!" I, as a gentleman, responded "I'm meeting someone here and they already have a table, DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT?!" She stood down after that.... The jerk! Anyway, I ordered the corned-beef hash with scrambled eggs and fruit. The eggs were over cooked and a small portion, the corned-beef was a tad greasy for my taste and felt like it came out of a can and the fruit was.... well.... fruit. The cost of three coffees was over five dollars. Highway robbery! To say the least, I've had better.
(2)Carey C.
I've had nothing but good experiences at this establishment. The line out the door on Sat & Sun mornings speak for itself. But don't be intimidated by the line, it always goes fast. It seems like some that gave it poor ratings had a bad experience w/ other diners initially, setting a negative mood before they even got to their tables. They have a map on the wall of people from ALL OVER THE WORLD who have dined there, and have returned. They can't be that bad. Food, mmm, they let me create my own pancakes. I LOVE that! Chocolate chip & bacon, thank you very much. They give you real butter, none of this whipped oil cr@p (sorry I grew up w/ farmer parents who churned their own butter, I've always, and will always do the artery clogging butter) Their omeletes are baked, fluffy, and to die for. They are enough for 2 people. It's amazing how they get them so big & fluffy, but it's not like they're airy, they're filling, don't get me wrong. I've never had lunch there, why? Haven't you read my reviews on the breakfasts? Then they'll have specials of the day like pumpkin cheesecake pancakes. Yes please! And these big as your face dutch praline puff of joy. It's like a gynormous sticky bun. Order a glass of milk, you will need it. Hell, if you have a sweet tooth for breakfast, you definitely have to check this place out. If you go on a weekend, go before the church crowd, and/or on a warm day, so if you're waiting in line, you won't get the grump gene like some of the reviewers. Happy eats!
(4)Brandon L.
The service sucks people behind us in line already finished before, the food is pretty good if you can get any overall I hate this place
(1)Mike G.
Foods good wait times are awful and turned away will not take reservations even for large parties. Had 15-20 people going there at 9 am this Saturday and explained we have an event at noon so couldn't afford to wait in line if there was one ... Turned away. Guess business is too good for them. There is no customer service these days.
(2)Tony C.
Been eating here since the doors first opened. We moved to the area in 1971. The apple pancake is the best. So filling. Great atmosphere and customer service. Keep up the great work. Line is out the door Sunday morning after church crowd.
(5)Ying T.
Second time, we tried omelettes, it was great but we both agreed it was too cheesy. We will definitely order without cheese next time.
(4)Dick E.
They have an amazing breakfast!
(4)Joseph L.
Pricey, but good. Coffee is good. Busy most weekends, there may be a wait. Not terribly impressed with their "fresh fruit". Omelette is amazing.
(4)Dushawn B.
This place is awesome! First time here and plan on going back real soon! Food was amazing and the hospitality was also amazing!
(5)Doug B.
Went after church - about a 15 minute wait on a Sunday at 11 a.m. I chose it based on the Yelp reviews and was really looking forward to the "Original Pancake House" type pancakes. This didn't disappoint. In the group of six, we had 2 Apple Pancakes, 2 French Toasts w/ Apple and Peaches, one Western Omelet, and one Loaded Potato Pancake. Everyone was happy. The weakest selection was the omelet - very average. Service was efficient but not particularly friendly. Portions are good. Beverages are topped off regularly and without having to ask. We'll go back and once again I get credit for making a good choice.
(4)Jennifer L.
Oh noooooo. I'm having a really hard time writing this review. I'm so disenchanted. I've heard wonderful things about the Pantry, but the only thing that lived up to expectations was the genuine, friendly service. I think if you take a look at my picture of my omelet, you might understand the problem. Does that look appetizing to you? Definitely overcooked, but also majorly discolored on the inside. The egg didn't resemble egg, and it was hard to eat it. It was gray mush. I ordered broccoli, artichoke, mushrooms, and swiss cheese. The broccoli was all stems unfortunately, which makes me think they came from a frozen bag. The mushrooms seemed fresh, but the artichokes were super soggy and the cheese was sub-par. Why I didn't send it back is a mystery to me now. Maybe the sides are better? No. The bacon was soft and the potatoes were bland and cold. I really can't say anymore. It must have been an off day, if all of their stars have anything to say. I don't know. I was sad when I ate it and now I'm sad again remembering. So instead of an entertaining review, this is all you get. Sad and mushy like my omelet.
(2)Scott C.
The Pantry is a great breakfast option. I love the attention to detail, for example their orange juice is fresh squeezed every morning, no concentrate at all, and it tastes amazing. I love their omelette's which are cooked in the frying pan and then baked. They have some of the best options to put into your omelette, which many other restaurants do not have, like asparagus, which I love in my omelette. For fun, you have to order one of their apple pancakes. OMGoodness it that delicious. Totally dessert for breakfast! The Pantry is my first choice for breakfast when I'm in the area, this is breakfast well done!
(5)Erin K.
This is a great place for pancakes; they are huge, yummy and they have a large variety to choose from. One thing in particular that is great is Mike's Egg Basket which is 3 eggs scrambled plus two of your favorite omelet items and cheese inside 2 potato skins and a side order of pancakes.
(4)Jessica K.
This is now my favorite breakfast place. I have tried the eggs, sausage, bacon and the German pancake so far and everything has been amazing. Fast service, friendly staff, short wait time, family oriented and just a wonderful environment overall. I guarantee u will be pleased and don't let the size of the restaurant fool u they make their tight quarters work. I plan on going back every weekend.
(5)Nathasja T.
Their menu reminds me a lot of the original pancake house's menu. So far I have only ordered threir breakfast special, which was pretty so-so. The star of the special would be the pancakes, and next time I'm aroun I will definitely stick to ordering pancakes of some kind. The real downer for me were the hash browns- being a potatoe lover they were merely meh.
(3)dawn v.
There is no way to rate this restaurant. If you order their specialties, then it's a 5 star. If you go astray and maybe order lunch, then it's a 2 star at best. BACON PANCAKES! It's the main reason to eat here. Dutch baby and German pancake are terrific too. But the egg sandwich, potatoes, hash, etc are just average. What you would expect from a homestyle diner. The waitress kept the coffee full and I appreciate that they have both orange juice from concentrate and freshly squeezed, but the total for three people was $45 with tip. That's a hefty amount for breakfast and way too much food on your plate, so save a few bucks and calories and order the half order of pancakes, (3 large ones), or a half side of bacon, (2 strips).
(3)L W.
Went to The Pantry after an event near there, very happy we did. The line when we arrived moved quickly. Service was great and the food was delicious. Omelette was excellent and the German pancake was amazing. The only disappointment was the side of fruit that came in place of toast, but everything else was so good it didn't really matter. Also liked the fact that they brought honey to the table for you when you order hot tea.

Went here for breakfast on Saturday, May, 17th 2014, after telling myself to give them another shot after my last terrible experience.... Shouldn't have. My buttermilk pancakes were absolutely terrible. So dry I couldn't even choke them down, no matter how much syrup I put on them. My girlfriend had an omelet and it was just as bad, not cooked right at all. Like egg soup in the middle. Don't even get me started on what they tried to pass off as hash Browns. Looked like something they scraped off a boot. This is absolutely unacceptable for a place that passes themselves off as a breakfast specialty restaurant. Would have had better at National and that's really saying something. Wasn't even asked if I would like something else instead. Poor service to say the least. I'm just one person and no one cares enough there to make it right, but I won't be back. Had to be honest and take the time to share my experience this time.

The most recent Fancy Breakfast Thursday (FBT) was at The Pantry in lovely Sterling Heights or as I call it the "Sheights". Jeffrey B. and two of our friends trekked out to the Sheights for a good breakfast and to use a Groupon previously purchased. The Pantry is a quaint breakfast and lunch joint located in a strip mall on the east side of Van Dyke at 15 Mile/Maple Road. The restaurant is interesting. There are lots of tall dividers that corral you around the restaurant. It seems like a small, confined place but there's actually quite a bit of seating room. The walls are covered with gigantic family portraits of, I assume, the owners and their extended family. The menu consists of mostly breakfast dishes and lunch dishes such as sandwiches, soup and salad. I paid attention only to the breakfast part of the menu, which is similar in many way to the Original Pancake House menu. The Pantry serves such favorites as Dutch Baby, German pancake, potato pancakes, crepes and other international fare. The menu also has such interestingly named items such as "apricot surprise" and "pineapple" surprise. Also, the Pantry serves any number of egg dishes. You can order almost any type of meat and eggs you can think of (Prime Rib, Italian sausage, Ham, Bacon, Turkey Sausage, etc.) The omelettes don't appear to be very interesting, but the best deal is the BYOO (Build Your Own Omelette). You can pick 4 items including cheese for the omelette. I ordered the omelette and it was a large oven-baked style omelette that was really big. It was full of cheese and fixin's and was really good. Most of the dishes are served with potatoes or pancakes or fruit and it also comes with toast. The meal is huge and I didn't even finish it. I got the pancakes to try them and they were excellent. They were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The service was very good. The most surprising part was that our server remembered Jeffrey B. from the last time he was there, in May, and she remembered what he ordered. It was astounding. She was very friendly and very attentive. Overall the Pantry was a great breakfast and I would definitely return.

This place is less than alright. I don't understand the hype. I compare it to a breakfast at Coney Island (not counting Leo's coney or Lafayette of course!). Nothing special. And the only two times I've been there I've received rude service and huffing and puffing if I'm not ready with an order or ask to tweak the ingredients in an omelette. An omelette the waitress doesn't even have to make and I get attitude. I'd rather make my own food, and I can't cook for shit!
(2)Bill B.
I had lived in Sterling Heights for over four years before I heard about The Pantry. I had not gone out of my way to a restaurant for breakfast since occasional trips to The Original Pancake House in Grosse Pointe Woods as a child. However, I had heard that The Pantry was as good or better than that venerable institution. I was not disappointed. The oven baked pancakes are taste heaven. The omelets are fluffy and filling. The waitstaff is also very nice. Be aware that you will probably have to wait in line to get into The Pantry. Don't let this discourage you. Wait the wait and your stomach will thank you.

Stopped there on a Saturday morning after hockey with 20-25 people. Even though there was a line out the door, they were able to get us seated in 10-15 minutes. It's a bit crowded inside but the staff is friendly and the food was good. Banana pancakes were a little dry which was disappointing, but everything else about our experience was great.

Service was great and the food was better

Love this place. Super fluffy (and gigantic) omelettes, tasty oven baked pancakes that I've only experienced before at The Original Pancake House in Birmingham (someone told me the chef used to work there - no clue if that's true). Not a place to go for a "light" meal, as everything I've had was drenched in buttery goodness, but super perfect when you're in the mood for a filling (and, oh, it will fill you), sticks with you kind of breakfast. Oven baked pancakes were also huge. Omelettes and oven-baked pancakes run 7-8 bucks and are WELL worth it for the amount of food you get.

Again, breakfast is not my favorite meal, but Dustin LOVES his breakfast foods. Whenever Dustin requests that I make him breakfast it usually ends in going to a restaurant. I would rather treat him to breakfast than make it. Dustin chose to go to the Pantry. This is a tiny diner in a strip mall. It does feel very homey, if my grandma's house had several booths in it. I did notice that even though it was noon, no one was even thinking about ordering anything but breakfast. Dustin got the eggs combo with corned beef hash. The corned beef hash was amazingly delicious! I could not stop eating it.I got the 123 breakfast - 1 piece french toast, 2 eggs (scrambled please), 3 pieces bacon. We also shared a side of fruit. Everything tasted great! My eggs were not greasy, or undercooked, they were really fluffy perfection. The french toast was great, the bacon was wonderfully crisp with out being burnt. This is the kind of place you find your self coming back to every Saturday morning because they do breakfast way better than I ever could!!

Someone once told me about 5 years ago that the Pantry served the same stuff as the pancake house only it was cheaper. Finally I got a chance to see if this statement is true. It is cheaper and it's more like a family owned diner but I have to say it's not like the pancake house...it's better. I'm not usually big on breakfast but today I felt like impressing Pepper, my date. I got the apple pancake and she got an omelet. Wow, bigger than I thought. Wow, better than I expected, "Taste this Pepper!". I had half her omelet and she tried to eat half of mine. Wow, excellent. Wow. Service was nice even though they were very very busy. Expect a line here on a Sunday morning. They are only open till 4pm I believe.
(5)Lulu S.
Loveeee their breakfast. The crepes are amazing. The omelets ROCK....., and I look forward to the fresh squeezed orange juice. They give you a lot of food for the price. AND my kids always order off the regular menu rather than the kids menu because they can't get enough of the pancakes and sausage!!!
(4)Natalie M.
I've been going to the Pantry since I was little. Their big thing is the German apple pancake, which usually takes 40 minutes from kitchen to table. It's a sugary volcano pancake of tasty goodness. HOWEVER. The real reason I go to the Pantry... BACON PANCAKES. This is the real pig in a blanket. No rolling sausage in a pancake. I'm talking bacon inside the pancakes. I'm talking awesome. Also, they know how to make cheesy scrambled eggs. Unlike some restaurants who merely plop a square piece of half-melted cheese on top, these guys mix in the gooey melty goodness. Be prepared to wait in line on the weekend. Beat the church rush and get there early.
(4)Kristine Z.
I love coming here for Breakfast. My favorite thing here is the Apple Pancake. It's my favorite. I also like German Pancake.
(5)Jessica w.
well, no doubt the food is amazing here! Some times it feels like its taking hours to make it though. I come in here about 2 times a week, making sure I hit the all you can eat pancakes special on Tuesday, and the flap jack pancakes are to die for. I also get the French toast which is thick and flavorful! BUT the service here is some times rude, in my opinion. I love the waitress with short brownish blonde hair but I rarely get her! I get the snide waitress with dark brown hair who seems to always have an attitude, an makes me feel like an idiot when I ask for more water? Is it that hard to keep it filled? Anyways the foods great! Service and waiting is BAD
(2)Belinda M.
My waffle was pretty good and my fiance's pecan pancakes were bland. His bacon he sent back because it was cold and as tough as a shoe and he thinks he got the same stuff back again and on the same plate within just a minute of giving it to the waitress! We'll be heading back to the sterling american grill. The prices were average to a regular diner for breakfast.
(2)Debbie H.
I know I'll be in the minority here ... but what is the big deal about this place? Maybe we stopped in on the wrong day ... or ordered the wrong things ... maybe the cook had temporarily lost his focus, or maybe he looked out from the kitchen, saw us, became agitated at what I was wearing or Deb's hairdo and served us subpar food. Who knows ... the staff couldn't have been friendlier and the wait, we were sure, would be well-worth it once the legendary pancakes and omelletes reached our table. Uh, not so much. The staff seriously was great but if I had to choose between The Pantry and Denny's ... I ... I ... ok, I'd choose The Pantry, but did you hear the hesitation? That can't be good. Deb had some massive apple pancake that mostly, after she dug her fork into it, seemed like a bag of hot air with a bunch of apple syrup-y stuff poured over it. My omellete was decent, but I would've gladly traded a little fluffiness for more ham and spinach. I don't know ... giving it one more chance is a longshot ... especially if there's a 15-20 minute wait that precedes it.

Now this is breakfast place! It's hard to believe that I live 3 minutes from this place for 4 years and it was just this past weekend that my husband and I decided to check it out. Their omelets are baked, quiche-like style. I had the asparagus and cheese (i know that sounds interesting) and it was surprisingly delicious! The asparagus has a bite to it and not soggy at all. Omelets come with toast and a choice of potato or pancakes. The pancakes were heavy and moist. Very good! Oven baked pancakes with fruit toppings are their signatures. We tried the apple and loved it. We will be back for the banana nut! Very clean and very friendly service!
(5)Mike R.
Low quality, too expensive, and there's always something wrong with my food. I don't understand the hype, I've had alot better at alot of places. The picture of that wierd looking old couple also staring at me while I eat is unappetizing as well. Try another breakfast place this one is annoying.
(2)Katie C.
As previous reviews have stated you can't go wrong with a breakfast from The Pantry. There is always a line to get seated on the weekends, because it is just that good. I trust a place that has a line, something has to be good to make the patrons wanting more. Needless to say we waited about 25 minutes to get sat on Sunday around 12:30pm. It wasn't that waiting in line that didn't earn the restaurant it's 5-stars, it was the lack of service when we were first seated. The omelets are delicious and huge. Cooked just perfectly and very fluffy. It was the length of my plate, and way to much eggs for just one person. My brother order their famous Apple Pancake surprise. The pancake comes out huge and eventually shrinks down a bit. The baked apples on top and the cinnamon complimented it just right. The batter they use here is just awesome, leaves the pancakes doughy and light! This pancake will bring you back to your favorite childhood memories of eating elephant ears at the carnival! If you like good strong coffee, don't get any here. They make it weak and it tasted like water. So go ahead and pass on it! My other brother had the butter roll french toast and that was just to die for! Sweet and delicious and once again no syrup was needed! This is a top notch breakfast for any day of the week! But definitely take your guest out to this yummy place!

I've literally been coming to The Pantry for as long as I can remember and the waitresses continually like to remind me, every time I stop in for some of their phenomenal breakfast. Located in Sterling Heights, on 14 Mile this family owned restaurant has been a staple in my family for almost 3 decades. What I love about The Pantry is that, in the 20 something years that I've been venturing in for crepes or waffles, the menu haven't changed. They know what they do best and have stuck to it for years and years and years. The fresh strawberry crepes (my favorite) are thin, fluffy and sweet with the homemade strawberry sauce drizzled over the top along with slivers of fresh berries and whipped cream. The flapjacks are as massive as the moon thin pancakes served with powdered sugar and lemon. The Pantry also serves sandwiches, but I rarely see anyone with a Tuna melt on their plate. When people come to The Pantry they come for the breakfast.
(5)John K.
This is the place to go for a great breakfast! Love the pancakes, and the country fried steak. Only been here a few times, and I loved it each time. Only downside is this is a small little restaurant, and there is usually a wait, if you go around noon for lunch.
(4)Theresa U.
5 stars for the nostalgia feeling I get when I come here. For whatever reason you may never know. (sigh) Anyway, the Pantry is a family friendly deli. It has great breakfast food and house specials! Horn of Plenty (Dutch baby filled x/fresh fruit topped w/whipped cream. German pancake, banana nut surprise. Etc. These are colossal. The omelets are large and fluffy. The eggs benedict is also noteworthy.
(5)John P.
This might be my favorite breakfast place I've been too since living in Michigan. Their food is excellent, and the staff there is very friendly. They even start to remember your order after a few times of visiting there. I probably go at least once a week now. If you're in the area and looking for a breakfast spot, go here... seriously.
(5)Melissa M.
Amazing breakfast. Beyond 5 stars!!!
(5)Bryan V.
Yes it's true. I like to eat. If you like to eat, you will like to eat here. Awesome breakfast omeletes, pancakes etc. Everything is big, so be prepared to take some home with you for your next 2 meals (maybe 3.) The omeletes are as big as...I got nothin. They are big. Everything is tasty, just don't try to finish. Save yourself. Prices are good, coffee is great. Friendly service, they do close early if I remember, say 4pm? A friend travels from SW Detroit to eat here. Thats a bit of a drive. So why haven't you been here yet?

The Pantry has been on the list of destinations for Fancy Breakfast Thursday for a while. Rumors of their huge omelets have been spread wide like [Google] Pac Man Fever. With usual FBT enthusiastic and partner in crime Ryan L. visiting the enchanted land of Terre Haute I was left to my own devices and ended up scheduling a first date for the occasion. Walking into the Pantry you are faced with small pictures of the Virgin Mary and large pictures of such temptations as the Apricot Surprise pancake. I found my way back to where my dining companion, Jonathon A., was waiting. I will admit that it took me way too long to get through all the options on the menu. It's huge. And offers all sorts of options from oven baked omelets a la the Original Pancake House to crêpes to in house specialties like Mike's egg Basket Breakfast (3 scrambled eggs & two of your favorite omelette items plus choice of cheese inside 2 potato skins with a side order of any griddle pancake). I was really tempted by Mike's Basket but I opted to create my own omelet (because I'm such a creature of habit) instead with asparagus, spinach, broccoli, and feta cheese served with pancakes and wheat toast. All of the food was served on separate white plates. The omelet was epically huge and overstuffed with deliciousness. I had mouthful after delicious mouthful of feta and vegetables. The pancakes were also spot-on, perfectly firmer on the outside and chewy in the center. I was actually relived that they were not too big. The coffee was plentiful, until our check was presented when it suddenly stopped like the all to sudden disappearance of Crystal Clear Pepsi or Steve Gutenberg's career. I was beyond amused by the random portraits lining the walls, from pseudo Anne Geddes mother and baby posed prints to friendly teammates smiling on the field. The décor also included many country touches, think apples and geese. There even was a ceramic cottage next to an antique coffee grinder. I was actually surprised how busy the restaurant was too at 12:30 on a Thursday, especially when Van Dyke has so many major chains to offer. I would return to The Pantry, especially since I couldn't even finish all of the food I was served. I will also report that if you find yourself at the Pantry and you're not feeling breakfast, fancy or not, they do offer lunch fair too. Jonathon was quick to point out the four pre-meal prayers (Catholic, Jewish, Protestant, and ?--I can't think of the other one!) on the cover of the menu. It is also noted that there is a senior discount of 10% by request for those 60 and older M-F but it's not valid with specials or credit cards. For those curious, there has already been a second and third date. Who knows, maybe the Pantry will be the start of something more than a filling breakfast?

A lot of people come here for the Apple Pancake. I don't. Not because it isn't good. It's actually REALLY good. I come here for the omelets. The omelets at The Pantry are BY FAR the best omelets I have ever had. Ever. What sets them apart? First, they are baked which makes them very fluffy. Second, they use the most delicious "brick" cheese. It is truly heaven. I don't make it to that side of town much, but when I'm in the area around breakfast time (I'll even do their omelets for lunch) I have to stop at The Pantry!
(5)Jem H.
Great breakfast food! Some of the best crepes I have had in the area. Get their either early or later because it is really busy on Sundays.
(5)dan h.
this place seems to have a cult following and it probably deserves it. it advertises that it's "family-owned" and has portraits of the owner's family all over. i think this appeals to the suburban families in the area that flock here on the weekends. i've had brunch in detroit twice in the last couple years and both times, my fam would have rather die than eat elsewhere. this time around i had to settle for the standard plain french toast because i was in a rush to get back to the airport and the oven-baked specialties (pancakes mostly) all took 20 minutes to prepare. they have an extensive menu and they seem pretty progressive for this area of the country as they have numerous healthy options on the menu to minimize the fat and cholesterol of the dishes. other than occasionally having to wait because of the crowds, this place seems to be a class act. the service is disciplined and strong also.
(4)Breonna W.
For me it was my first time going, but my family had been there countless times. I waited about 20 minutes to get seated, but it was completely worth it. I ordered the cherry crêpes with Canadian bacon. They gave me a side of whip cream which was nice so my breakfast didn't drown once it melted. I ate about 1 1/2 out of the 3 they game me. I had them the next day and they were still good. I had a taste of the sweet potato pancakes and they are phenomenal. Super nice service. Highly recommend.
(5)Brandie H.
Looking for something sweet and filing? The apple pancake is the way to go! I ordered a side of fresh American fries to balance it out. The omelets are pretty basic but not horrible. Most of the omelets only have two ingredients one being cheese. So far this is my first experience at this restaurant but they hit a home run on the pancakes. The lunch looks enticing, consisting of sandwiches and a few dinner entrees. This is a easy inexpensive stop if you're in the area and if not the apple pancake is worth the trip!

As the 101th review, I feel I should mention that The Pantry is a very special place to me. I first came to eat here in the third week of Decemeber in 2011, and since then it has been etched in as part of a beautiful thing in my own life. Before I ate here, I've always wanted to have breakfast at a place that gave me good type of feels as soon as I entered, and that's exactly how I felt when I came inside here. This might be odd to mention, but I really love the coffee mugs, they just give you a home like vibe. I always ordered the very same thing when I go there, the chocolate chips Belgian waffle. It not only looks perfect, it tastes perfect too! Some other sides I have had is the American fries, the toast with jam, and fresh fruits, which always come in the right portion.
(5)Marlon N.
Must try their mike's egg basket!!! The combination of potato and omelette is awesome. The service is great and fast! I highly recommend this place.

Due to the cold Toast in Ferndale had their pipes burst, so on this fine Presidents Day it was off to The Pantry. Can't lie, The Pantry does some solid breakfast. I hear the German style pancakes are the way to go as well as some of the other french toasts and such but I avoid all sweet breakfast in favor of savory. Mikes Egg Basket: My friend ordered this, and he was kind enough to add on an egg basket so I could try one for myself. I'm a simple breakfast man, and this was a creative play on simplicity. Essentially an egg scrambled scooped into a potato skin just like you would get with an order of friend potato skins. Oven Baked Omelette: I did a Build Your Own (BYO) omelette with mushroom, onion, bacon, and white brick cheese. Win! Wow talk about fluffy eggs and the perfect omelette. I'd love to see some more creative options in this form, but I get that simple + traditional over trendy + edgy is their style here. Get the white brick, hands down the best. Biscuits and Gravy: No complaints, nothing bad and nothing out of this world. Solid buttermilk biscuit and some savory sausage gravy. Breakfast Sausage links: These were tough and chewy, for sure I've had much better sausage links at any coney island. Carry Franks and Cholula hot sauce, no sriracha. I was shocked how busy this place was for 9:45 on a Monday. Literally a line to the door.

I completely understand the ratings on this place now. Yum It's a much larger building than I expected and I was very happy we got there early enough that there was no wait. We were seated and promptly given water and coffee. It took us a minute to browse over the menu and decide, but *shocker* we went with the same thing we almost always order for breakfast. I had the 2 egg and bacon combo that came with potatoes and toast (there's an option to have pancakes instead of potatoes fyi). My friend ordered the corned beef hash, bacon, and an english muffin. The food came out promptly and everything was perfectly to order except the eggs were just a tiny bit more done that I like, but it's a negligible detail. The bacon was thick, well cooked, and ample, and the potatoes had nice crispy bits. I didn't even hear my man talk about his food like usual, instead I got a mixture of yummy noises. I kept seeing dutch baby pancakes roll past me as well as some scrumptious looking omelettes. I'll definitely be back, and for the price, this will probably need to be put in to the normal rotation!
(4)Billy L.
Breakfasts can't be beat. I always get the omelettes, one son (23) loves the apple pancakes and the other son (20) loves the pigs in a blanket. The food is over the top delicious, great service and the prices are reasonable. There is usually a line on Sundays so get there early. This week I got the omelette with all egg whites and it was just as amazing.
(4)Beth W.
Large menu, tons of choices. I've only had breakfast here so can't comment on the lunch items. Tasty food and good service. Enjoy going here for breakfast.

Who says you can't have flapjacks, not the Pantry. If you love breakfast this is a place to go. Pancakes!
(4)Carma S.
After eating at a national food chain everyday this week I decided to try a local spot. I must say they have Good food, very attentive services, and excellent prices for the amount of food! I would definitely recommend this place. I only hate I didn't try the apple pancakes the lady next to me did and they look delicious!
(5)Justin R.
Simply the best! Lunch menu is pretty meh, but they really shine in the breakfast department. Prices are fair, and staff is usually friendly. Their Paul Bunyan breakfast is probably one of the more encompassing country style breakfasts I've had. Cheesecake crepes are bomb. Got a real sweet tooth? Go for the Apple pancake, it's pretty much a giant elephant ear covered in apples. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything that has pancake, waffle or crepe in the name. This is the kind of place that ruins other breakfast places for me. There's a reason the line is always out the door.
(5)William S.
After eating at The Pantry yesterday I came to realize I don't believe I've ever done a review of this place. The service is amazing. The waitresses ALWAYS hustle. It's busy. This place is slam packed every time I go. That's because it's so good. I'm not a big breakfast guy, but once in a while I want something good. This is definitely a go-to place. The food is fresh and tasty . The menu has a great variety. The service is great. I recommend this restaurant....it's been there forever.
(4)Brandy A.
Yelp removed my last review because they said I personally attacked the manager in my review, so here is my review with just the facts. I got a carryout order and... THERE WAS GLASS IN MY OMELET. The manager didn't believe me. The manager was rude. The manager implied that it came from MY kitchen even though the food was eaten from the carryout containers and there was no broken glass in my house. They are lucky I don't sue them. I will never eat here again for fear of my health and safety. The manager denied the glass came from their restaurant despite the glass being baked in the middle of my omelet. I'm not trying to get get anything from these people but I need to warn people away from possibly getting hurt eating here. The manager did send me a check to cover the food but she couldn't even be bothered to spell my name right. Very unprofessional service and dangerous food.

I tried The Pantry for the first time to see why everyone is obsessed with it. Their "lunch" food was okay. It wasn't anything special. The focus is on the breakfast food. Their breakfast food is very delicious and it feels like they spend more time on it. Their crepes are the best. They have an item that's not on the menu which is the Nutella Crepes and it's perfect with every bite. If you're a first timer, do not sit and wait for the waitress for an hour to pay her, because you have to take your receipt to the cash register upfront to pay.
(3)Lynn B.
Great food and service. Large portions. Family friendly. Really enjoyed the Apple Pancake. Mike's egg basket needs to be highlighted here because we often find it very delicious. My husband also tried the blueberry pancakes and he was amazed by their excellent taste. Definitely a revisit when in the area.
(4)Alexandra Z.
This place is famous for a reason! Their pancakes are not normal.. enough for two people.. it's a great idea to get a savory and a sweet then split bc the dishes are SO BIG and so filling! We took a bunch home. I love their Christian atmosphere too!

(5)Happy B.

(5)Holly S.
(5)Ahmed A.
This is a great experience. the Pantry is a place with great customer service filled with a sense of humor. We just ordered Mike's Eggs Basket, and the German Pancake. All fresh ingredients and great fresh fruit. Pictures will come up soon.
(5)Jill T.
First time here! It was good! Breakfast portions are huge, prices are reasonable, but our waitress wasn't very friendly. Other than that, we were impressed and we will definitely be returning!
(4)Danielle S.
(4)Michelle M.
Every time I go here I say I'm going to try something new but always end up getting the apple pancake. It's just so good that I can't help myself.
(5)Abbey M.
(5)Bill W.
One of the better places I've been for breakfast. There was a line out the door when I went but I only waited 20 min. They turn around fast. The food is excellent. I had the German pancake...come hungry. Coffee was above average. Good service.
(2)Doug B.
(4)Carey C.
(5)Jennifer L.

This is a great place for pancakes; they are huge, yummy and they have a large variety to choose from. One thing in particular that is great is Mike's Egg Basket which is 3 eggs scrambled plus two of your favorite omelet items and cheese inside 2 potato skins and a side order of pancakes.

Low quality, too expensive, and there's always something wrong with my food. I don't understand the hype, I've had alot better at alot of places. The picture of that wierd looking old couple also staring at me while I eat is unappetizing as well. Try another breakfast place this one is annoying.

(5)dan h.
this place seems to have a cult following and it probably deserves it. it advertises that it's "family-owned" and has portraits of the owner's family all over. i think this appeals to the suburban families in the area that flock here on the weekends. i've had brunch in detroit twice in the last couple years and both times, my fam would have rather die than eat elsewhere. this time around i had to settle for the standard plain french toast because i was in a rush to get back to the airport and the oven-baked specialties (pancakes mostly) all took 20 minutes to prepare. they have an extensive menu and they seem pretty progressive for this area of the country as they have numerous healthy options on the menu to minimize the fat and cholesterol of the dishes. other than occasionally having to wait because of the crowds, this place seems to be a class act. the service is disciplined and strong also.
